SoundGenius Privacy Policy
Date of Last Revision: July 7, 2026
SoundGenius (“SoundGenius,” “we,” “us,” or “our“) is a service operated by AdverGroup LLC that generates AI music, voiceovers, and sound effects. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use our website at https://soundgenius.com/ and any related applications, tools, and features (collectively, the “Service“).
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
Information you provide to us.
- Account information — such as your name and email address when you register, and, if you sign in through a third party, information that provider shares with us (see “Signing In With Google” below).
- Content you submit (“Inputs”) — text prompts, descriptions, audio recordings, and other material you upload to generate music, voiceovers, or sound effects.
- Voice recordings — audio you upload to create a voice model (see “Voice Data and Biometric Information” below).
- Payment information — when you subscribe or purchase credits. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor (Stripe), not stored by us.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact support or otherwise correspond with us.
Information we collect automatically. When you use the Service, we may collect device and usage information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, features used, referring URLs, and timestamps, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and Tracking”).
Information from third parties. If you sign in using Google, we receive certain information from Google as described below.
Signing In With Google (Google User Data)
The Service offers “Sign in with Google” for account creation and authentication. This section describes how we access, use, store, and share Google user data, consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy.
What we access. When you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares a limited set of profile information with us based on the permission you grant: your name, email address, profile picture, and your Google account identifier. We request only the minimum scopes needed to authenticate you (your basic profile and email); we do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or any other sensitive or restricted Google data.
How we use it. We use this Google user data solely to:
- create and secure your SoundGenius account;
- authenticate you and log you in;
- populate your basic account profile (such as your name and email); and
- communicate with you about your account and the Service.
How we store it. Google user data is stored with your account records using industry-standard security measures, and is retained only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, unless a longer period is required by law.
How we share it. We do not sell your Google user data, and we do not transfer or share it with third parties except with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the Service, or as required by law, as described in “How We Share Information” below.
Limited use. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not use Google user data to serve advertising (including retargeting or personalized advertising), we do not transfer or sell it to data brokers, information resellers, or advertising platforms, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Revoking access and deleting your data. You can revoke SoundGenius’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. You may also request deletion of your SoundGenius account and associated data as described in “Your Choices and Rights” and “How to Delete Your Data” below.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
- authenticate users and manage accounts;
- process your Inputs and generate Outputs (including through our third-party AI provider);
- process payments and manage subscriptions and credits;
- respond to your requests and provide customer support;
- communicate with you about your account, updates, security notices, and (where permitted) marketing;
- monitor and analyze usage to improve and develop the Service;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Voice Data and Biometric Information
If you use features that create a voice model, we collect and process audio recordings of a voice you provide. You may only submit recordings of your own voice or a voice you are expressly authorized to use.
- Purpose. We use these recordings and the resulting voice model solely to generate the Outputs you request and to provide and improve the Service.
- Consent. By uploading voice recordings to create a voice model, you provide your informed consent to our collection, storage, and use of that voice data for these purposes.
- Sharing. Voice recordings and voice models are processed by our third-party AI provider (ElevenLabs) to generate Output. We do not sell voice data or profit from it as a standalone product, and we will not commercialize your voice on a standalone basis without your permission.
- Retention and destruction. We retain voice recordings and voice models only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law, and we delete them within a reasonable period after they are no longer needed or upon your verified request. You may request deletion of your voice models through your account settings.
Depending on where you live, voice data may be treated as biometric information under laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). Where such laws apply, we handle voice data in accordance with their consent, retention, and destruction requirements. (This section is subject to legal review to confirm alignment with applicable biometric-privacy law.)
AI Processing and Your Content
The Service is powered in part by third-party artificial-intelligence providers, including ElevenLabs. To generate Outputs, your Inputs — which may include text prompts and voice recordings — are transmitted to and processed by these providers. Their processing of your data is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We share with these providers only what is necessary to deliver the features you use.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- AI providers. With ElevenLabs and any other AI providers, to process your Inputs and generate Outputs.
- Payment processor. With Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions and credits.
- Service providers. With vendors that provide hosting, analytics, security, communications, and similar services on our behalf, under obligations to protect your information.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property, or safety of SoundGenius, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy or provide notice of any material change.
We do not transfer, sell, or use Google user data, or your personal information, for advertising, retargeting, data brokering, or creditworthiness determinations.
Cookies and Tracking
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, analyze usage, and secure the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals; where a legally recognized opt-out preference signal applies, we will honor it as required by law.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below; we may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), you have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise your rights using the contact details below.
Google Sign-In users. You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
How to Delete Your Data
You may delete your account and associated data at any time by using the account-deletion option in your account settings, or by emailing us at privacy@soundgenius.com. Upon a verified request, we will delete your personal information, including Inputs, Outputs stored on your behalf, and voice models, except for information we are required or permitted to retain by law. If you signed in with Google, deleting your account and revoking access through your Google Account permissions page will end our access to your Google user data.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the Service is not directed primarily at children or offered for use by them through Google Sign-In. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Users
We are based in the United States and process information here. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, or change how we use Google user data, we will notify you by a reasonable means (such as an in-Service notice or email) and, where required, obtain your consent before applying the change. We will update the “Date of Last Revision” above. Please review this page periodically.
